states to the united nations, and i think she was one of the great u.n. ambassadors. she served as a member of ronald reagan's cabinet. for this and her career and service, ambassador kirkpatrick was awarded the presidential medal of freedom, and we at fdd are honored to have worked with her, to have learned from her, and we continue to honor her legacy and example. to that end, it is particularly gratifying for me to present the fist award name -- first award named in her memory and her honor to senators lieberman and kyl. senator lieberman -- let's give a round of applause or for them.
